What Did You Say?!!!

Over the years the girls have said many funny words. Madeline's classic "nocturnal life" comes to mind. I have tried to remember and record most of them. There haven't been a whole lot until recently. A couple of weeks ago, Noella was using "perhaps." She loves all the old fashioned movies like Heidi, Secret Garden, various Shirley Temple, and her most recent favorite, Pollyanna. I wonder if that is how she picked up perhaps? As she was sitting at her desk contemplating what she would like to do next she stated, "Perhaps I should do Boz." She continued to use it for a few days and I have not heard it again since. This past weekend we explained to Madeline about Daylight Savings Time. She has concluded that she does not like "sunlight savings time" because she woke up with a stomach bug! All of these sayings have given us a chuckle over the years. Today, however, I was taken a back when I heard the latest....I was ironing in my room and the girls wanted to be close by so they were using empty storage containers to make beds. Madeline finished her creation and said, " Mom, look!! I made a virginal bed! Isn't it cool? Do you know what a virginal bed is?"I thought to myself "Yeah, and I sure hope that you don't!!!!! ...and if you do, HOW and Where did you hear that??!!!!" I kept my cool and let her explain. She explained that a versional bed is one that she can change around into something new without messing it up. She demonstrated that it converted into two different types of beds as she moved the covers over the laundry basket at the end. WHEW!! So glad she changed her pronunciation and explained the marvelous meaning of her latest innovation!!!

Sparkie Games/ Breakfast with Dora

We had a very busy weekend. Saturday we went to the kids fair at the expo center and the girls had fun climbing the mountain and playing on the many bounce houses and slides. Later, Madeline had her first Awana Sparkie games. Today, Sunday, we went to lunch with Dora at the Marriot hotel. Josh set it up through his work. They had lots of questions about who was in the costume and where the costume came from. Noella also found Josh's missing wedding ring under the bed today:) We went to send out a thank you to all of the friends who came over this afternoon to help Josh move the playhouse. THANK YOU soooo much!!! We are really happy to have it in the back yard where the girls can play with it!! We hope lots of our friends will be able to come over and play this spring/summer!
